Family hiking in Cornwall
The only other picture we could find to illustrate 'UK family holidays' was four people stood in the rain in Eastbourne. It would be nice to think that this sunny image of a family hiking on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall was a bit nearer to the truth. From great hotels to city day trips and nature reserves, there are tips covering every aspect of the British isles for parents and children alike. But perhaps taking a brolly is a good idea.

Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre

Posted by marytebje 29 November 2012

A fitting tribute to the worlds greatest story-teller Roald Dahl who lived and wrote his stories in the heart of the Chilterns. He used everyday locations around his village, Great Missenden to great effect in many of his wonderful stories. There is a family-friendly walking trail to spot local literary landmarks that is worth exploring after a visit to the Museum and Story Centre on the High Street.
