United Kingdom
Quantro is in Roundhay, a faintly posh suburb of Leeds. I recommend it because it is brilliantly understated. Despite serving some of the best food I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of food) it doesn't have any of the usual posh-restaurant snobbery, though the food is easily of the quality where snobbery would be justified. In other words, the staff are really nice and friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.
And there's no menu lottery to get nervous about. Whatever you order off the menu is going to be delicious, so none of that 'I wish I'd ordered what you're having' disappointment. It's not cheap - a meal for two won't leave you much change out of £60, but it's a marvellous luxury and well worth the money. If you're here mid-week, they also do an early-bird menu of three courses for £12.50. It's also two minutes walk from Roundhay Park too, which makes it a perfect lunch venue after a calming Saturday morning stroll.
