    Fratelli d'Italia

    Posted by ian334 6 August 2012

A lot of cafes say they serve the best coffee in town but this one really does.
Owned by Antonio a fantastic host the food is also special.
A limited choice but all prepared fresh daily.
A first port of call for Italians visiting the city and a growing band of regular customers it's a class and much loved place to meet in the city.

    Adam's Cafe

Posted by poppyleadbetter 19 December 2010

A tiny little cafe in the heart of Liverpool's studentville, Adam's Cafe will not be beaten on providing the ultimate Great British Breakfast for £3.50. Grilled not fried, two of everything, pot of fresh coffee or pot of fresh tea, fresh orange juice, spankingly clean. A traditional, little British breakfast cafe, which keeps it clean, simple, hearty and plentiful and amazing value. And somehow still manages not to be overrun. Definitely worth the 10 minute bus ride out of the city centre and the perfect New Year's morning solution - when venturing back into the centre of town is the last thing you'd want anyway.

    The Green Fish Cafe

Posted by vkeen 7 January 2008

A cosy little cafe in the heart of the city. A great place to go for lunch if you enjoy veggie and vegan cuisine. Very friendly staff, freshly cooked everything and all very cheap! If you are lucky you may even meet their resident harpist.

Just off Renshaw Street, behind Stanley Casino.

    Green Fish Cafe

Posted by sturdylegs 7 January 2008

    Vegetarian Whole food Cafe

A top tip for a tasty lunch for around a fiver. Funky exhibitions from local artists. Cool tunes in an ambient style. Live music provided by a resident harpist.

It's a chance to rub shoulders with the Scouse literati and wrap your lips round a stonking beanburger.

Toilet needs nerves of steel, stout heart and effortless self confidence.

A little corner of Italy in the centre of town. Marvellous food and majestic espresso are all provided by the irrepresible Antonio and his friendly staff. A great atmosphere, not to be missed at any price!

    The Egg Cafe and Gallery

Posted by disgruntledS 4 January 2008

Popular with Liverpool locals, especially gap year and arty types, the Egg does great vegan food, reasonably priced and really tasty. The caff is not just for vegans and veggies, but for anyone who wants a real taste of Liverpool culture. You have to keep your eyes peeled to spot the entrance though!

Vegetarian cafe with limited but delicious homecooked choice of lasagne, salads, chili. Large portions, small prices and a relaxing atmosphere. No alcohol. Largely undiscovered but it's been around for years.

    Rotana

Posted by chan 30 January 2006

Incredibly authentic Middle Eastern restaurant on the studenty Smithdown Road. Grills and kebabs are great but it’s best to create your own meze with a selection of starters and salads (£2-3 each). Bring your own booze and make sure you enjoy a cardamom infused Turkish coffee and a shisha to finish.
