    Hostel Booking

Posted by travellingchick 20 June 2007

If you are heading to London and want to save some of your precious pennies for something other than accommodation, I recommmend checking out www.hostellondon.com.

It's got heaps of cheap accommodation and all of it is reviewed by former customers meaning you won't end up in a total kip!

    Web based route planner

Posted by DubDevil 11 June 2007

A really good web resource I’ve been using to expand my repertoire of riding is a website called www.bikely.com. It’s a global community site for logging routes and sharing them with others. I’ve been using it for everything from holidays to training rides.

You can draw your proposed route on the map and it’ll work out distance, height gains and you can even export it to Google Earth for a pre ride fly through. Great fun for planning your own Tour De France in the lunch hour with some really good local knowledge on a lot of the routes.

    Hot on Earth

Posted by LisaAnne 24 May 2007

Hotonearth.co.uk is a gobal warming awareness site which includes a shopping directory featuring travel companies. For every purchase you make from one of these retailers via the site, a percentage of your payment is passed onto a carbon offsetting scheme. You pay no extra than you would from shopping from this travel company normally; the donation comes from the store themselves.

You can even choose from a list of Project Partners which scheme you support.

Debate rages about the effectiveness of Carbon Offsetting - but every little helps.

I think it is becoming essential to protect yourself against being refused your pre-booked hotel room. After a long flight I arrived at a south Kensington hotel to be told I had no booking and they were full. In future, I will call beforehand to make sure it's all OK. I have found a website page that lists the reasons so you can be prepared.

    Left Handed Shop

Posted by Neill Andrew 29 January 2007

If you are left handed like me this is the shop for you. They have loads of things to make your life easier and every thing you might need for school. It’s not just a kids shop though it’s a shop for all us Lefties. You could spend many hours wondering around in amazement at all the products they have and definitely some you would never even thought of.

They have a saying and it goes like this "As the right hemisphere of the brain controls the left side of the body then only the left-handers are in their right minds!"

    From Neill Andrew (age 12).

    LondonDailyPhoto

LondonDailyPhoto is where I go when I want to know in a snapshot what the city is really about! One of the first five blogs created after the Paris version, the author, "Ham", gives the reader a great stroll around the city to see things you might normally miss. Of course, all without getting wet!
