    The Basement

    Posted by AC89 18 May 2007

Basement has a nice bookshop and a very convenient set of computers with internet access. The food is delicious and inexpensive since the restaurant is volunteer run.

    Eighth Day Co-op

Posted by campermoose 18 May 2007

A Manchester institution, serving students and other fans on this site since 1972. Delicious old-skool wholesome and filling veggie and vegan food, with some lighter alternatives these days, legendary salad dressing. They aren't shy about putting their recipes on the web so you can make them in slightly smaller quantities at home. There's a great food shop upstairs, too.

    The Marble Arch

Posted by sgredding 16 January 2006

A beautiful grade II listed pub with much of its original interior - a sloping mosaic floor and glazed tile ceiling. What's more, the Marble Brewery is entirely vegan and organic and brews five of its own beers.
