    The Griffin Inn

Posted by jamesdulless 17 November 2010

I do a lot of trekking across the countryside near Milton Keynes and have recently been posting about those hidden gems I come across.
The Griffin Inn has recently been refurbished and is a lovely little pub. There are eight pubs in Toddington and for me this is the best one! I had a lovely lunch there and the staff were very nice. My tip would be to drop in and have a bite to eat. I found out about this pub from a local community run web site called My Toddington.

Much to everyone's surprise Milton Keynes has three magnificent ancient woodlands (i.e. been there since before 1600) right in the new city. Each is a about 100 acres and open to the public 24/7. They are connected to the network of open spaces and cycleways that have been woven across the city and each has at least one free car park next to it.

    The Stables

Posted by scotstigger 25 July 2009

World class music venue on the outskirts of Milton Keynes promoting over 350 gigs annually across two performance spaces - fantastic opportunities to see both well established and up and coming bands and artists of all genres in superb surroundings.

Also an extensive music education programme including the annual National Youth Music Camps whose alumni include Guy Chambers, Dominic Miller, Thom Yorke, Alec & Jacqui Dankworth.

The Black Horse is situated next to the Grand Union Canal and within easy walking distance of the Nags Head. Along the way you will see a stone circle, the Artwoks project complex, the great Linford Manor and Rectory, the historic village and the narrow boats on the Grand Union Canal. It is all situated in a lovely park setting. The Black Horse has geat food at reasonble prices and the Nags Head won local pub of the year. The best of both worlds and lots more. We are not just about roundabouts and concrete cows.

On the Newport Pagnell road between Wolverton and Newport Pagnell just next to the Grand Union canal.

    Spice Lounge

It's in the heart of the theatre district and is an independently run venue. I've never seen an Indian restaurant and live music bar rolled into one - it's fab.

    The Indian Cottage

This must be the best Indian Restaurant in the Milton Keynes area. The food is superb - excellent. It is very consistent, we have yet to have a poor meal there. The service is great.
