Go on a tour of Nottingham with Robin Hood! The guide, Ade Andrews, is great in character as the legend himself, bringing to life the stories and tales of the man in green tights. Great way to explore Nottingham and learn more about its most famous son.
Really interesting guided walking tour of Nottingham exploring some legends and villains. Robin Hood of course is included, but also covers Torvill & Dean, DH Lawrence, Lord Byron... all sorts of stories that really bring the city to life! Great way to see lots of interesting historic spots in the city's laneways also.
This fair claims to be the biggest Antiques Fair in Europe and the size has to be seen to be believed!
Newark is not from Nottingham - about 30 minutes by car or train. Or about 1 hour 30 minutes from London Kings Cross. Makes for an interesting day out - and you can even take your dog along! Next one is in April... they happen a few times each year.
Squeak is by far my favourite restaurant and the best place to get your hands on delicious vegetarian food. The restaurant has a very homely, 1970s feel, decorated with warm colours and mismatched furniture. The menu changes on a regular basis, and is always inventive and exciting, with lots of choice for both vegetarians and vegans. I visited with a large group of meat eater friends for a birthday one year and they all loved the food and were very pleasantly surprised with how tasty everything was. Alongside great food, there is also a fantastic selection of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, including organic and vegan beverages.
