Family hiking in Cornwall
The only other picture we could find to illustrate 'UK family holidays' was four people stood in the rain in Eastbourne. It would be nice to think that this sunny image of a family hiking on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall was a bit nearer to the truth. From great hotels to city day trips and nature reserves, there are tips covering every aspect of the British isles for parents and children alike. But perhaps taking a brolly is a good idea.

    Heroes & Villains Guided Walk

Posted by erinhuckle 10 February 2012

Really interesting guided walking tour of Nottingham exploring some legends and villains. Robin Hood of course is included, but also covers Torvill & Dean, DH Lawrence, Lord Byron... all sorts of stories that really bring the city to life! Great way to see lots of interesting historic spots in the city's laneways also.

A Christmas themed market with stalls selling all sorts of Christmas goods. There is also a wide range of food and drink available, from all the countries of the globe. Also, the Dairy Milk hot chocolate stall is not to be missed. Complete the festive experience by going ice skating - it's cheap and the most festive fun i've had in ages.

Nottingham’s a great place to visit. My top tip would be visit the infamous Nottingham Castle which today houses some art exhibitions. You can look over the entire city from the castle gardens. There’s even a chance to explore the secret caves of Mortimer’s hole which tunnel deep into the Castle Rock. After the exploration I recommend you recharge with a good pint at Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Britain’s oldest inn which is just underneath the castle. Knights stopped off on their way to the crusades in the pub. It’s packed with atmosphere and history.
