    Tristram Campsite

    Posted by carib123 6 June 2011

Tristram Campsite, Polzeath sits nestled on the lowering cliff tops down towards the village, on the majestic North Cornish Coastal path.
The sun rises over the village itself bathing the site with sunshine all day long. Lazing on your pitch, after a fun day in surf (five minutes walk away) or a day's exploring, watching the evening surfers, the sun sets, almost always with style every evening. A perfect accompaniment to that well deserved chilled beer or wine and bbq! Priceless!

    Staying at Mesmear

Posted by LSummerell 11 March 2009

Mesmear is a farm with a number of barns which have been converted to the highest standard. It is tucked away down a little lane close to Polzeath, Rock and Padstow so an ideal location if you love walking, the sea and great food!

We stayed at The Barn and it truly was a home away from home. So much thought has gone into this property that every detail if not forgotten - the decor is very comtemporary and luxurious and here are some nice touches such as local produce waiting for you for your first breakfast, an honesty bar, yummy toiletries and underfloor heating.

Mesmear also runs cookery courses which you can do in your property which was a lot of fun!

My husband and I found it was the perfect couple retreat, whether it be in the winter when you can stay in and enjoy the wood burner, or in the summer when you can make the most of the location...but it would also be great for families or groups of friends. Try it!

    Carruan Farm

Posted by treasurepot 23 March 2008

Carruan Farm is a working farm overlooking Polzeath Hill on the North Cornish coast. Carruan boasts a farmhouse kitchen, farm shop and outdoor eating and play area, all new in the past two years. They have also introduced a mail order business so you can enjoy their produce from all over the country.

Your hosts are Mike and Clare Parnell who wholeheartedly share their farm with you with true Cornish warmth.

What a find! We make our annual trip to the beautiful West coast of Cornwall and always make a point of going to Carruan.

Picture it - a hard day's play building castles and moats on the sands at Polzeath or catching the waves. It leaves you with an appetite for good homemade food. You must enjoy one of their farmhouse suppers or outdoor summer barbecues in the evenings. Absolutely beautiful and more often meat used that they have reared on the farm. Makes my mouth water thinking about it!

A totally child friendly paradise. Fantastic play area, tractor trips around the farm and meet the farm animals. Often evening activities are focused around the children including Punch and Judy shows, storytelling and laser tag. You must see the sheep racing - great fun.

Simply visit Carruan and enjoy. I guarantee you will want to return.
