    Brockholes Nature Reserve

    Posted by bakers13 22 May 2011

Disused gravel pits have recently been adapted to create an environment that provides habitat for different wildlife. There are newly created wildflower meadows, reedbeds and woodland. You can stroll by the River Ribble or follow walking trails around the lakes. There is a stunning Visitor Village floating on one of the lakes with a restaurant and shops. Opened Easter 2011 so some areas look a bit bare.
