This is a celebration of Charles Dickens and everyone dresses up and parades up Rochester High Street. It is always crowded and you also have Rochester Castle and Rochester Cathedral to view. It's a real family day full of fun and events. It's nice to pack a picnic and as there are loads of lovely places where you can set up and enjoy while the kids run around.

Probably one of the best pubs in Rochester. Slightly out of the tourist route as it is behind the high street, the castle and the cathedral on the smal road leading out of Rochester.
Small and cosy with open fire in winter. Only two bars with the saloon serving excellent food at lunchtime - except on Sundays.

Located a few meters away from Rochester Castle. One of the best pubs in Rochester, ideal for a good pub lunch. Car park at the back.

Diggerland in Kent is a really fun adventure park, as there are so many different types of diggers to drive on, including dumper trucks and giant diggers.
All ages can join in, including adults! It’s really safe (you get tuition) and the staff are cool.
There are man-size diggers and you can dig massive holes and it’s just great for a boys' day out!
