The George

Posted by poorboy 25 December 2007

The George is a hotel and resturant in Stamford. The food is amazing, and the historic setting is both relaxing and interesting. The rooms are full of character, and the personal wake up call with a cup of tea was spot on! I would recommend the Serene Sunday deal. Stamford is a stunning stone town, with lots of great shopping and places to eat.

Holiday cottage

Posted by billep 22 August 2007

Gorgeous two-bedroomed cottage in a pretty village just outside Georgian market town of Stamford.

Perfect for a retreat from city life being situated in the relatively unknown countryside of Rutland.

The cottage is tastefully decorated (granite worktops/Egyptian cotton bedding) and has all mod cons including a washing machine and dishwasher.

It also has an amazing DVD library for kids and adults and a cosy pub literally at the end of the lane!

The cottage is perfectly situated to explore not only Rutland Water where we tried a number of water sports but also surrounding quaint villages.
