If you want to escape into the idyllic English countryside, then this little cottage in Devon is absolute heaven.
Me and my wife stayed last week. The weather was the Indian summer we had hoped for. The landlady gave us a hamper of food and even a bottle of wine to welcome us in! Great food in the local Beachcomber bar. What a well kept secret. I hope no one reads this so it can stay that way...

Secreted in a tiny village between Torquay and Exeter this restaurant is a delight. Using mostly local ingredients to create excellent menus at what - at least to London eyes - are very reasonable prices.
