Family hiking in Cornwall
The only other picture we could find to illustrate 'UK family holidays' was four people stood in the rain in Eastbourne. It would be nice to think that this sunny image of a family hiking on the Lizard Peninsular in Cornwall was a bit nearer to the truth. From great hotels to city day trips and nature reserves, there are tips covering every aspect of the British isles for parents and children alike. But perhaps taking a brolly is a good idea.

    Bygones Victorian Museum

Posted by ashtonjp 25 March 2008

The street of Victorian shops is fascinating; there are other historical mock-ups such as a First World War trench (no wellies required) and something for all ages... it's a family run business so the home-made scones ARE home-made.
Just the place for a rainy day.

    Living Coasts

Living Coasts is a 'sea-life' zoo - the best part is that the penguins there are allowed out of their enclosure to mingle with the public.

    Sorley Tunnel

Posted by BobG 13 July 2006

Toddlers love the farm animals, older kids run themselves ragged on the adventure playgrounds - either way, this place is a sanctuary when they're bored with the beach or when it's bucketing it down outside. And then there's the tunnel itself - a 1/2 mile-long trek in the pitch black along a disused railway tunnel that's genuinely unnerving ...
