Pick a nature reserve from one of the 2,300 managed by the UK's 47 Wildlife Trusts and work out how to get there without using the car. Walk, cycle, use public transport - the choice is yours. Fill a rucksack with goodies and don't forget to take a map. The kids will thank you for not making them sit in a traffic jam for hours on end and you'll have a grin on your face because you're out enjoying nature and you've done something different.
