No longer the ugly duckling

Long been considered a run-down, crime-ridden, poor brother of Washington DC, Baltimore has been getting more attention as a rejuvenated, revitalised centre of magnificent Chesapeake Bay.
It even has its own HBO TV series now (The Wire). Inner Harbor and Fell's Point are the main neighbourhoods where tourists flock to, but the re-birth of Baltimore can be seen in every direction. Being on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay, seafood is a must for all visitors to Baltimore, with crabcakes and fried oysters perhaps being the most well-known.
Sitting at an outdoor table in one of Fell's Point's many restaurants, looking at the harbour in a late, lazy afternoon, biting into a just made crabcake and washing it down with your favourite beer should soothe any tired soul seeking refreshments and relaxation.
