It's off the road and very quiet and the lagoon is so big. If you want to snorkle and see many tropical fish and corals it's the place to go. The water is clear and clean. Last time I was there I spent four hours with six large turtles. I watched them graze on the bottom of the sea floor. Also a great place if you are a shell collector.

Great food - and we are vegetarian. And if you want a takeaway or supplies for breakfast, just pop next door to the excellent Papaya health-food shop.
Lovely and discreet, like other good resorts on the island.
Large but still quiet. Beach access shared with another hotel.
Great location.
Kauai is what most people envision Hawaii to be. Waterfalls, mountains, crashing surf, dramatic landscapes and nature surrounds you everywhere you go.
It is also known as "the Garden Isle". I went to Kauai to hike the infamous Kalaulau trail. I was going to be there for a week and ended up spending nine months there. It is worth the side trip! I stayed in hostels, camped and even rented a treehouse for a little while. The north shore region is usually regarded as the best part for nature lovers and dramatic vistas.
