    11th Street Diner

Posted by LexiLex 25 July 2007

Everyone talks about the News Cafe or Jerry's Deli, but the 11th Street Diner is cheaper, with better food and it doesn't take an hour to get your order delivered! They do huge omelettes in the morning and great milkshakes, all in the setting of an authentic 1950's diner. I love it!

11th Street Diner, corner of 11th and Washington Ave.

If travelling to Miami on a budget the new Jazz on South Beach hostel at 321 Collins Ave is a good bet. It's close to the beach and has ensuite bathrooms.

It was formerly the Hotel Atlantica, but was converted into a hostel recently. It's in a quiet section of South Beach Miami, but is still within walking distance to the clubs.

    Lime Fresh Mexican Grill

    Posted by nomad28 5 June 2007

It's often difficult to find good Mexican food, and it's often difficult to find good food in South Beach period. But Lime Fresh Mexican Grill on Alton Road is a fantastic exception. I highly recommend the chicken mole burritos for about US$8. It's great food on a budget.

Old-fashioned diner (in that converted-train-carriage stylee) in the centre of South Beach. Serves old-fashioned diner food at decent prices and is open 24 hours. Also serves beer, and has an outside terrace.

    The Clay Hotel

Posted by mbilal 9 January 2006

A cheap, clean youth hostel with friendly staff. You can get free entrance from reception to get into some of the nightclubs. The hostel is also close to everything you need including the beach and Ocean Drive. I stayed there for two weeks and met some great people from around the world.

1438 Washington Avenue, on the corner of Española Way, South Beach, Miami; tel: (305) 534-2988; www.clayhotel.com/

    The South Beach Hostel

Posted by pinopat 14 April 2006

You might think visiting South Beach Art Deco area would be expensive, but there are actually hostels right in the middle of it all. One of those hostels is the South Beach hostel. It has a great location and a bar right in the hostel. At only 20 dollars a night, it is probably the best price in Miami.
