The best climate in US, 365 days a year (sometimes a bit cloudy in June!). Magnificent Balboa Park must not be missed, packed with museums, Imax cinema, restaurants, gardens etc, etc. Big naval centre and scary airport in the middle of town. Set on a hillside with deep gorges running down towards downtown and the coast. Good bus system, and coaster tourist train up the coast (of course).
