Centrally located on the stylish Grey Street. This equally stylish coffee house offers great coffee, snacks and lunch menu; its desserts are simply fabulous! Offers a great chilled ambience and plays jazz to its varied and hip clientele. A regular favourite so can get busy - does offer street seating in the summer. Just a great place to soak up city vibe and eat tasty food. Mid-range prices, good veggie options available.

What's hip about Blakes? It's just packed with people from local offices stuffing in their lunchtime Stottie - not cool at all!
'Live' Jazz played every Wednesday by Simon Allen and Friends.
It might be stylish but the food stinks as does the coffee. I'm regularly disappointed in visiting there, which is a shame as it used to be much better. The coffee is also of poor quality and the level of service is largely below par. The cleanliness of the utensils leaves a lot to be desired as well.
I don't agree with these comments, Blakes is a very warm and welcoming place to visit. I love sitting outside and soaking up the buzz of this lovely historical part of town. They also have a vast range of snacks and drinks.Send your feedback or queries to been.there@guardian.co.uk
