    Blakes Coffee House

Posted by skipperoo 26 November 2006

Centrally located on the stylish Grey Street. This equally stylish coffee house offers great coffee, snacks and lunch menu; its desserts are simply fabulous! Offers a great chilled ambience and plays jazz to its varied and hip clientele. A regular favourite so can get busy - does offer street seating in the summer. Just a great place to soak up city vibe and eat tasty food. Mid-range prices, good veggie options available.

What's hip about Blakes? It's just packed with people from local offices stuffing in their lunchtime Stottie - not cool at all!

It might be stylish but the food stinks as does the coffee. I'm regularly disappointed in visiting there, which is a shame as it used to be much better. The coffee is also of poor quality and the level of service is largely below par. The cleanliness of the utensils leaves a lot to be desired as well.

I don't agree with these comments, Blakes is a very warm and welcoming place to visit. I love sitting outside and soaking up the buzz of this lovely historical part of town. They also have a vast range of snacks and drinks.
