Negotiate a price first, particularly if going from the station to the Medina. There is a wide variation of prices when using the petit taxis.

We checked the price as we got in, every trip we made was 20 dirhams (about £1.20). Most of the drivers spoke some English, even if you didn't need it. Actually, you should really insist they use the meter, rather than negotiate a price. The meter will almost certainly be cheaper, and if they say it is broken, you can always get a different taxi (there are loads).If you must fix the price first - about 50 dirhams from medina to airport is more than enough. I don't think it is unreasonable to pay 15 dirhams for the ride from medina to, say, Les Jardins Majorelle, or an equivalent distance.
