    Cal Pep

Tucked away in a square in the Born area (near the seafront) is this wonderful little tapas bar. Expect to queue ... in fact the queue is half the fun as it snakes up and down and around the bar. You can drink while you queue and enjoy the atmosphere. When you come to order, if you don't speak Spanish, just indicate that you want it all. The food will keep coming until you signal you've had enough! All food is cooked fresh in front of you and the staff are a lot of fun.

The restaurant has one of the best wine lists in Barcelona. Order: 'Butifarra amb foie' (Catalan Sausage with foie and served with white beans), they'll serve this separately, and after all the amazing fish you've just eaten, it's the perfect complement. Then finish with 'Cuatro espumas'. I won't tell you what this dessert is, just trust me.

The only problem in this place is that there's no menu and they don't speak English. I'm guessing they do it on purpose to keep the tourists out. So just smile and let them choose your menu for you.

The food is fantastic - book well ahead if you want a table in the back room.
