A Chinese garden of the Ming Dynasty 'Scholar's Garden' style. It is the first full-sized classical Chinese garden outside of China. Located in Vancouver's Chinatown, it is tranquil and beautiful. Take a tour or experience a musical presentation here, then enjoy a meal in Chinatown.

There are two parts to Sun Yat-Sen: the park and the garden. The park is on the East side, and is free to enter. It has a lily pond with turtles and koi, and is a lovely place to take a break and read or think or just watch the ducks on the pond. Has a couple of picnic tables hidden away at the back behind all the black bamboo.
The Scholar's Garden is the other side, and you have to pay to get in, although it is both reasonable and very much worth it. You'll be amazed at the vistas of beauty that this small space contains; it seems like it goes on forever. Do not miss this, no matter what else you have to give up. All materials, including the boulders and every handmade roof tile, were imported from China.
