Actually, you can ride the Taff Trail all the way up to Brecon. As you pass through Pontypridd, take time off to visit Ponty's only real-ale gastro pub, the Bunch of Grapes, boasting a huge range of guest ales plus those from the excellent local brewery, Otley. Then carry on the Trail (weaving slightly) through heartbreakingly beautiful terrain up the Merthyr valley and beyond.
