If you rent an aparment directly with the owner you will save the agency commision which is normnally 20% of the total price.
It is a myth that it is risky as the agency will just get their money in the check in and after that you will deal all with the owner of the flat and you will never see the agency people again unless the owner has paid them for the checkout. So in both cases the risk is absolutelly the same.
Some agencys charge not only the 20% commission (A few of them charge 10% or 15% specially the ones that have just started) but an "administrative fee" that you also save if you hire with the landlord directly.Send your feedback or queries to been.there@guardian.co.uk
