    This building was the last major design by Enric Miralles, a Catalan architect whose life was cut short tragically during the building of the Parliament by a brain tumour. He had an almsot poetic vision of architecture which can also be found in the St Catalina Market in Barcelona and the extension to the city chambers kin Utrecht.
    The Scottish Parliament building is worth visiting even if people don't like the sight of it to see the way Enric Miralles used the landscape and the light to create a benign and varied atmosphere - the chamber itself and the committee rooms, notably number one, are the best examples of this as also are the various lobbies.

    The real parliament house is free to enter, tucked behind St.Giles cathedral and the earlier one is in the royal palace within Edinburgh castle so there is a choice of three ...
