I cannot recommend Seville. The chances of being mugged and your vehicle being broken into are very high. Pickpockets and purse snatchers are abundant.

When one travels to Madrid and sees a vehicle with a broken window, the locals joke that this is a gift from Seville.

Bars and restaurants will, more often than not, overcharge you if you are not careful. Be especially aware of taxi fares. They will give you a tour of the city when one is not familiar with the best route to your destination.

Did you have a bad experience in Seville, or is this hearsay?

I've lived in the centre of Seville for 15 years and have never been mugged or had my purse snatched. I don't think Seville is any more dangerous in this way than other cities that attract a lot of tourists.

I've also never been overcharged in a restaurant or tapas bar, and I've been to plenty of those.

And it's been my experience that taxi drivers everywhere are likely to give you a tour of the city if they think they can get away with it.
