A pousada in Pelourinho (very picturesque, in the old part of town, and it has great nightlife). Good value, great atmosphere, very friendly owners who can can advise you about Salvador and elsewhere in Brazil and book travel etc for you. Good breakfast. Free internet/coffee/use of kitchen and washing machine.
