Shanghai's Maglev airport train shoots you across 30km at over 500 kph - the world's fastest. Take it for an experience rather than ease, unfortunately it doesn't take you right into the city centre but the station is well connected by taxis which wait around the station.
A one-way ticket is just around GBP5 so well worth the experience.

Be careful when taking a taxi at the Maglev station. You may be accosted by official looking guys who want to guide you to a taxi (this will result in you being ripped off and dropped off somewhere that's probably not where you wanted to go). Always ignore anyone and go to the taxi line outside the station. 431 kph max speed actually, but still extremely fast and definitely worth a ride.
