Oslo is the most expensive place I have been to in Europe and the prices are comparible with Tokyo. A small pint of the local Norweigan beer (which tastes like Tennants) costs around £7.

£7 a beer! Where have you been, mate? Ripped off, indeed. I know 90% of Oslo's pubs and bars. Average price for a half-litre is 55 kroner, around £4-5. Plenty of so-called brown pubs - no music, disciplined drinkers - charge around 40 kr, or £3-4! What rubbish! I agree that prices are dreadful - I've lived here 40 years - and am invariably shocked. But all shops are NOT closed on Sundays. Beer prices vary, certainly. I can get a half-liter of good beer for £4-5 many places. And just what does 'a small pint' mean?
