Once yearly show (around Eastertime) where Sydneysiders can see a bit of the old country on there doorstep. Excellent shows (sheepshearing, hearding, etc), traditional food and a great fairgound.
But best of all the show is famous for its children's goodie bags - children can buy for next to nothing themed bags of sweets and toys. Our kids still go on about them a year later. As parents we were dreading it but had a great day out!

Catch the train to Olympic Park and follow the crowds. Wear comfy shoes and a hat. The local newspapers do a rundown on which show bags are good value for money: you will do best to be really well prepared on this if you have children or you will be spending a fortune on what usually amounts to rubbish. The best things are free at the Show: the events in the main ring (get a seat early), the craft and other exhibits, the animals, people watching etc. The food is mainly overpriced and not very good, but that is traditional too.
