    Filling up in McDonalds

Posted by Norbert 21 November 2005

London is very expensive. To make the most of your time here eat McDonalds and fill up on Apple pies and stuff. the prices are fixed so you can have a meal for about six pounds sterling. I have been charged £5 for a slice of pizza before now.

Yes, London is very expensive, but there are alternatives to "filling up" at McDonald's - with more chance of the children staying full for longer.

Firstly, there's the new mini chain Leon, which offers cheap, healthy fast food. There are branches on Carnaby Street and at Ludgate near St Paul's, with more branches planned.

And if you're near Covent Garden, Food for Thought on Neal Street is hard to beat - it gets busy, but it's worth the wait.

Go to Stockpot on Old Compton St, near Shaftesbury Avenue. Cheap and nutritious. Or go to any branch of Wagamama (www.wagamama.com) and get a large bowl of healthy noodles and veg, with juice drink for the price of a mac, coke and fries.
