    Ivy Guesthouse

Posted by moonstomper 6 December 2005

The Ivy Guesthouse is next to the central market and has an excellent restaurant (try the stilton burger) and bar with Angkor beer on tap. The rooms have modern air-conditioning and the ones at the front have a balcony to watch the bustling marketplace in action. Rooms have hot showers ensuite. The best place I have stayed in south-east Asia.

On the south-west corner of the central market place.

If you have a smaller (backpacker) budget, you can find Ivy 2 (owned by the same people as Ivy) opposite the west side of the Old Market.

Great food, extremely helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms with fans and ensuite toilets & (customary cold) showers. There's also a pool table and a fab roof terrace with sofas and hammocks, perfect for enjoying cold beers and exchanging tales with fellow travellers.

If I remember correctly, price for twin ensuite room just for myself was $5 per night.
