    Perlan

Posted by carkeek 10 December 2005

Perlan is a revolving restaurant, sitting above the city with views over the harbours and beyond. It is a short taxi ride from the city centre.

Although revolving restaurants are perhaps a bit naff, the views really are sublime (especially at sunset) and the food was great.

It was on the expensive side - £150 for two people – but everything is in Iceland.

You can sit in the cafe for free and go out on the 360 degree deck to view the city. We ate our home-made sandwiches in the cafe for free with no objections from staff. We spent three hours there taking in the view and then walked down in the dark and saw Perlan all lit up. Lovely.

Great food, service and ambience. Try the grilled fillet of lamb - it's delicious. Well worth saving up for!
