    Ligne D'Azur bus passes

Posted by tanguero 7 April 2006

The area covered by the local bus services run by Ligne D'Azur has been extended. Collect a free route map from the airport or elsewhere.

The seven-day passes are great value and allow journeys to such places as Vence, Eze and some distance inland.

The Ligne d'Azur was formerly known as the SUNBUS Company. They are a minnow against the mighty TAM who run almost all the buses from Nice to Cannes and from Nice to Monte Carlo and Menton, and many towns inland, like Grasse.

Normally I would always side with the minnow. But their buses are generally not allowed to use the Gare Routiere, and the bus stops are difficult for a tourist to know where to find.

And whilst you can go to Vence, most tourists reading that will think of St Paul de Vence. Vence is somewhere less popular with tourists.

Indeed, this bus pass is really good only for people who are Nicois and work in the town and its suburbs. Tourist places are off limits, except Eze.
