Don't forget about the Croc Guide. Also pick up the Croc free pocket guide to entertainment and dining in Cairo. Very funny, bitingly honest - and all the live music events. It's all over town in most cafes, bars and cultural centres. The Cairo Times has stopped publication and I found the Cairo Cafe unhelpful.
