If you like walking take a city bus to Spanish Banks beach and hike along the shoreline until you see a "Clothing Optional" sign. You have entered a national park and Wreck Beach is about an hour's trek away. The scenery is magnificent and unspoiled. When you reach Wreck Beach there is a steep climb up a stairway to Marine Drive where you can catch a bus back to the city. Wreck Beach is unique. It's not just another beach, it's another world. The beach became popular in the hippie era and the flavour still lingers. All kinds of refreshments are available and being part of a national park the beach is well maintained but still very laid back.
