Vegetarians are not well catered for in Lisbon, but the restaurant in the Buddhist centre on Rua do Salitre makes up for it. It's friendly, the food is good, and the building itself is pretty, with a nice garden at the back. Closed at weekends. Booking advised.

There are at least 34 veggie restaurants in Greater Lisbon (Greater Lisbon means from Lisbon itself to Cascais/Estoril, as the crow flies west to the coast). I recommend Oriente Chiado and Terra, which both have an all you can eat buffet.Send your feedback or queries to been.there@guardian.co.uk
