Market Hotel is a rare find, and one so good that I'm tempted not to tell, but here goes.
It's a beautiful, affordable (doubles are 80 euros) boutique hotel in the centre of Barcelona, with a great restaurant that's open for lunch and dinner (and always full).
My words cannot do it justice, but check out the photos website. The best hotel shower I have ever experienced, and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Can't agree more. We stayed in the hotel's apartment, which had a roof terrace, kitchen and sitting room for 129 euros a night. Well worth it!
This hotel is as amazing as it looks on the website, but there is one catch. Part of the hotel is actually inside a neighbouring block of flats, and is amazingly noisy. I suggest paying the extra few pounds and staying in a junior suite. These suites have a huge bathroom, a private terrace, and are much, much quieter than the rooms on the 2nd floor.Send your feedback or queries to been.there@guardian.co.uk
