Every evening around dusk thousands of starlings congregate and swarm in an amazing display over what was once the West Pier. Simply an incredible natural phenomenon. Best seen at sunset with a cold pint.

Not any more. The starlings don't live on the West Pier since their home was burned down twice.
This is way out of date. The starlings used to nest in the old buildings and came out at dusk. Since the buildings completely burnt out two years ago, there are no more starlings and no more stunning displays.
Those updates are not true! I live in Brighton and I've been lucky enough to catch the starling display many times since the pier burnt down - most recently one week ago! I don't know where they nest exactly but they definitely still swarm and it is still a sight to watch out for.
For evidence they DO still swarm see the Brighton Daily Photo blog:Send your feedback or queries to been.there@guardian.co.uk
