I've just been to Trencher's with 2 Europeans as it came highly recommended and, though we were able to get a table easily, we were disappointed. The fish n chips were average; dare I say it the batter a bit soggy and the chips a bit anaemic. There were a lot of things not on the menu that day and we found it pricey: over a tenner for fish and chips, over a fiver for a stainless steel pot of tea for three and bread and butter at 50 p a slice! OK but not the ambrosia that people would have you believe!
