    A correction: the architectural style of the beautiful houses in the Cabanyal - Canyamelar district is popular-modernist, not colonial. A few more points about the battle to save Cabanyal - Canyamelar: fortunately, all is not yet lost. The residents are fighting to hold up the demolition orders. They're on strong ground here. Due to their clear historical and architectural value, many of the houses are legally protected, classified as assets of cultural interest. However, this is not stopping the local PP government, in conjunction with property developers, from doing their best to coin in some more cash during the America's Cup boom.
