Oldest building in Manchester, with a great seating area for sunny days. Moved brick by brick after the bomb to its present site.
Exchange Square, just beyond the cathedral from Victoria station and next to Urbis.
Avoid this pub (and its next door neighbour) and look for real Manchester pubs, not these fake recreations - there is hardly a real brick left after being moved twice in 30 years. The atmosphere outside on match days, and particularly on St George's Day, is distinctly unpleasant.Send your feedback or queries to been.there@guardian.co.uk
