The powerhouse that produced playwrights from Sean O'Casey to Brian Friel remains one of the great theatres of the world. The Peacock studio is a good place to spot new writing.

    Updates
The Abbey's auditorium has been made much more audience-friendly following some modernising and now the sight-lines are good wherever you're seated. The first few rows of seats are below stage level - so the next rows are best.
