Hawthorn House, in Kenmare, is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Together with 3 friends, I stayed here earlier this year on a golfing holiday. Mary, who runs the B&B, is wonderful and I want to go back tomorrow.
It is walking distance from all the 30 bars and restaurants in Kenmare.

Isn't it interesting how people can have different experiences of the same place? We stayed at this B&B for two nights in August 2005, having got the name from the Lonely Planet. The B&B website said there were fresh fruit and flowers and a cup of tea on arrival and wonderful breakfasts. We did not experience any of these and the breakfast was very basic indeed. We were very disappointed.
