    Inner Harmony Cyprus

Posted by AriadnaWell 3 December 2011

I stayed in Tochni villages in Cyprus couple of weeks ago. I'm into yoga, so handily, they are offering private yoga classes with a local teacher, Sylvia Braun. Those who like yoga, it's a great experience - you get to practice in a picturesque environment with a very experienced teacher who tailors the practice according to your needs. I'm not a beginner so my classes were pretty advanced, but another person staying there was a total beginner and found the teacher to be very attentive. The accommodation was very comfortable, traditional houses. And I love Cyprus food (half-board included in the package). They have vegetarian options which was good for me. The beach is not accessible by foot but you can drive there. You can also do horse riding, hiking. Peace and quiet, beautiful people.

    Keg and Barrel pub

Posted by LittleMissLilley 10 June 2011

This bar is run by two South African Cypriot brothers and is the HQ of the Paphos Tigers rugby club, so you won't be surprised to learn that it's the best place to find rugby being shown in football-crazed Paphos. They also do excellent food and there's free wifi. The brandy sours, cold beer, internet and board games make it an excellent place to while away an hour or three ...

    Trip to Cyprus blog

Posted by chrisandsarah 14 November 2010

A wonderful blog, generally of day trips from Limassol, to scenic places all around around Cyprus with a decent assessment of their worth (and which season to go), clear directions and lovely pictures.

    Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish)

Posted by beyaz 8 March 2010

Kyrenia is a beautiful Venetian harbour town in northern Cyprus (Turkish area) not known by many. It is believed that Kyrenia in North Cyprus has more than 6,000 year long history. Kyrenia today home to unique remains of countless civilisations, miles of natural sandy beaches, turquoise sea, and is sunny nearly all year around. It is an idyllic Mediterranean town that has something to offer for every one.

    Euro Free Holiday

Posted by CyprusGuy 7 October 2009

As the only Euro-Med destination not having officially adopted the Euro currency, North Cyprus is a heaven for deals for the more financially conscious and is slowly gaining recognition for being a great value destination.

In Northern Cyprus the currency for purchasing everything apart from real estate is the Turkish Lira which has fared much better against the British Pound in comparison to the Euro. This year, those who are destined for Cyprus in the hope of enjoying an affordable holiday in the sun, away from the UK's and Europe’s credit crunch situation should make certain they are holidaying on the right side (i.e., the North side) of the Green Line!

    Ancient City of Kourion

Posted by moiaussi 22 June 2009

The ancient city of Kourion is the perfect place to visit on a day-trip if you are staying in Limassol and hire a car. Situated on the cliff-tops, the ruined city offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and you can see the remains of a number of significant Roman buildings.

The Roman Theatre has been recently restored to its former glory and is used as a venue for concerts and plays during the summer.

With the credit crunch really starting to bite and the Euro being so bad against the pound, I'd like to recommend North Cyprus as the place to go on holiday. I've been going on a regular basis for many years and have completely fallen in love with the place.

Apart from being exceptionally good value for money, North Cyprus has so much to offer - great beaches, beautiful historic sites, amazing wildlife, fantastic but cheap restaurants, friendly locals and much more. I go there to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and always come home feeling completely relaxed (even when I've taken the kids).

I always stay at the Mountain View Hotel, a 3-star English/Cypriot family run hotel in Kyrenia, as I'm made to feel so at home and am always shown to the best local restaurants. If you haven't been - North Cyprus really is a must visit place!
