Located in one of the arches under the railway line, Secondo is a delightful cafe and second hand clothing emporium. The arch is crammed with all manner of retro clothing, furnishings, there's even a caravan and a dinky bubble car! The menu is great and customers can request bigger portions if required to give strength to sort through the vast selection of vintage and retro clothing. A DJ plays music from the 1950s and 1980s in the caravan on Friday and Saturday evenings. Great idea, great place.

Why watch nature when you can be part of it? With a salty sea breeze on your face settle into a sheltered hollow and you are likely to see seals in the bay below; choughs, fulmers and a hunting kestral in the sky above; porpoises racing the tide and gannets arrowing into the sound. All before you've had time to drain your first cup of tea from your flask - magical!

This is a great example of a proper pub, sitiuated on London Road in Leicester (directly opposite Victoria Park). It's an Everards house so the beer is their own range (Tiger, Beacon, Original, Sunchaser and seasonal varieties) but they do have one guest ale.
Warm and cosy in winter, with a varied clientele, it is in summer that the place comes in to its own. It has a lovely, enormous and enclosed garden at the back, with plenty of tables and grass to sit on.
On a recent visit, a new children's play area had been installed, and also a petanque court too.
It really is a lovely place to sit in the sunshine enjoying a beer.

Home made scones and clotted cream. The jam is great and served in a pot. You can eat inside or out and it's very clean and comfortable.

I wanted to recommend my local high street. It's a few minutes walk from the tourist chaos of the London Eye and County Hall but worth checking out.
Walk through the Leake Street tunnel (passing under Waterloo Station) which is has over 100m of graffiti. Artists are free to work here and there's a mix of classic style, stencil, logos, obligatory tagging, one-off scupltures and even knitted graffiti.
Leake Street leads to Lower Marsh with it's daily fruit and veg market, plenty of independent shops, cafes, eateries pubs and bars. Books, bondage gear, London's best classical and jazz CD shop, vintage clothing boutiques, a scooter repair shop/cafe (or is that the other way around?) to a knitters paradise and a train spotters book shop - you can even buy yourself a flute.
Weekdays are a mix of lunching workers and shopping locals. Keep walking and you get to Waterloo Road and The Cut, with the Old and Young Vic theatre
