This is Berlin's one and only hostelboat, which means you can actually stay overnight on a boat on the River Spree for reasonable and have superb views over the river. I recommend it because it is something different, but apart from this, it's a very cosy place with very helpful people. Rooms are nice and have all attached bath. It is next to what's left of the wall and in general a cool place.
You can get off one of the main station, which is Ostbahnhof and walk along the wall, which enables you to admire the numerous murals, or you can get off the tube stations Warschauerstrasse or Schlesische Strasse, which are a bit closer;

Cheap and cheerful accommodation in central location, with English-speaking staff and a lively basement bar mainly filled with backpacking tourists. The rooms range from cheap-as-chips shared dormitories to affordable, stylish apartments with roof terrace

Hot, noisy, heaving with people - go about it the wrong way, and Delhi can be hell. Go about it the right way, and you'll find yourself staying in one of the most restful, charming guest houses in India. Gorgeously decorated and improbably cheap, it boasts comfortable beds, spotlessly clean bathrooms, home-cooked meals should you want them, and a blissfully cool roof terrace overhung with climbing plants. The owners, Avnish and Urvashi, go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible - they'll book you taxis to and from the airport, and Avnish runs fascinating off-the-beaten-track tours of 'Hidden Delhi' every Saturday. All this, and it's just a 10-minute walk from Connaught Place. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Widely considered the place to be seen staying in Tokyo, the Park Hyatt is a favourite haunt of visiting VIPs and assorted celebrities. The hotel is housed in the Shinjuku Park Tower, three pointed towers designed by local architect Kenzo Tange. Room rates start at around 40,000 yen, and the impressive choice of bars and restaurants could leave you parting with at least as much again. But it’s unavoidable if you want the ultimate chic Tokyo experience.

They are called “motels”, but this is a euphemism – they are places where you go to have sex and pay by the hour. I first thought they were sleazy, but that was before I went to one. In fact, they are frequented as much by married couples as they are by illicit lovers and can be as romantic as you want them to be. At the top end, like at VIP’s Motel, the rooms have a wonderful ocean view, a pool, sauna and jacuzzi, as well as disco lights, sound system, TV, mirrors on the walls and ceiling and a large room service menu.

I don't usually post reviews but felt I had to for the Riad Dar Najat. I stayed there at the end of July with my family and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy Marrakesh.
It's a great place, very reasonably priced. Very close to the main square and a place to chill out when you've done your exploring. Oliver the manager and his team do everything to make you feel at home. The place has a magical quality to it and you feel as if you are steeped in the culture of the place and not as someone else said in some cold concrete modern hotel.
Don't worry about it being in the back streets. We always felt safe and its close to everything. Anyway the team at the Dar Najat will accompany you to help you find your way around.
The rooms are great and the air-conditioning works a treat in the hot months.
I also recommend the food there and ask Oliver about where to go and what to see.
Having breakfast and just relaxing on the terrace is a pleasure in itself.
The place is a must for everyone.
Riad Dar Najat is a beautiful riad in a great location near all the souks and the main square. The best thing about this riad is the wonderful, helpful and friendly staff who even take you to the square themselves (thanks Amin!) as it is hard to get your bearings at first.
Also the riad itself is beautifully decorated and in ideal surroundings to relax in after a day's touring and shopping.
Oliver, the owner, is also very helpful on the emails beforehand and he is great at recommending things to do and places to eat when you get there. An amazing experience!
Le Manoir de la Croix situated in Montviron, a short drive from Mont St Michel, is a really delightful place to stay. It's secluded, quiet and the perfect base for exploring the Normandy and Brittany coastline. While it's not strictly a chateau, it's a very elegant, historic manor house, dating from 1839, and the price of a double room (including a truly divine breakfast) from 64 euros makes it a real steal.
Madame Patrice Wagner is a wonderful hostess; kind, genteel and from a more refined era.

Dar Najat is the coolest riad in Marrakech!
This is not just a place to stay. I was treated like a princess. It felt like being in a friend's house. I need to return soon. I miss my chair on the terrace. I miss my breakfast late in the morning under the warm sun of Marrakech. I miss the wonderful music. I miss them all!

Dar Darma is a small and very exclusive palace situated in the Old Medina with few rooms preciously decorated. Our Suite Patio was really comfortable and spacious. The palace also has beautiful terraces, with a swimming pool, where you can relax drinking the traditional mint tea. Also the cuisine is very good. We asked for typical dishes, and the cook prepared us cous cous, brochette and tajine: all was very very good! Dar Darma is also near to the most important places of interest. From the hotel we walked to visit the Medersa, the Museum of Marrakech and vibrant Square Jemaa El-Fna. We have really appreciate our stay at Dar Darma: a wonderful experience indeed!

We recently visited Montreal and enjoyed a wonderful stay at Atmosphere. It is warm and welcoming and gives its guests all the goodness of feeling “right at home” perfectly combined with the pleasure of being on vacation. The food is delicious - everyone knows that - but the ambiance is what makes it even more special. Located in a funky little area of Montreal which is cool but quiet and within walking distance to Rue St. Catherine, Old Montreal and some great restaurants (Patryck can recommend a few) - it was the perfect location. Patryck pays attention to detail, as exhibited in his meal preparation as well as the renovations he made. Patryck and Elizabeth have found the recipe for hospitality and we’re so glad we found them. We highly recommend this B&B and feel assured that you will leave with the same feeling as we did - like you made new friends. In just two words, absolute perfection.

Villa consisting of four apartments, family run, with fantastic grounds and own swimming pool.
Very friendly English family who embraced Italy, the culture and language and renovated an old farm house in this small village.
The apartment we stayed in was very spacious and extremely well equipped, everything we needed and more was there. The surrounding grounds were perfect for our children to explore safely. There were hammocks for relaxing quietly while admiring the amazing views across the mountains, and a badminton net (for when you're feeling more energetic) and bikes.
The girls (aged eight, 11 and 12) spent most of holiday in the pool. Our son (aged five) helped Damien the owner pick, plant and water their many vegetables and fruit (hours of entertainment) and they didn't mind the guests helping themselves.
The apartments were full, but not overcrowded and there was a great mix of people. You could take a 10-minute stroll into town from the villa. Walk up into the centro historico for beautiful buildings and views. Stop for a coffee half way up and enjoy the mountain views while soaking up the sun. Take the children to the park, play crazy golf or tennis.
The nearest beach is only 45 minutes away. We had an amazing time and would definitely suggest you check it out.
This is a gem of a place, the nicest chalet I've ever stayed in. It had a lovely welcoming feel, so warm and friendly - it was the perfect mountain retreat for us.
It's close to the Flegere ski lift and within staggering distance of some good bars and restaurants (though we spent more evenings in, lazing on the sofas with the playstation or Scalextric!). Lovely views from the balcony and garden too.
Sleeps ten, including a double in the cute mini-chalet in the garden.

I picked up a great map for free in one of the tourist offices but I think you can order it from the Czech cartographer company SHOCart.
It's called 'Slovensko Kemping, Termalne Kupaliska' which means 'Camping and Thermal Pools in Slovakia'. It details every pool and campsite in the country and is very useful and inspiring for planning a trip.
Spent a week in a ground-floor apartment in this impressive villa with views you dream about.
The hilltop town of Sarnano with the backdrop of the Sibilini mountains is just wonderful and only 10 minutes' drive away. Taking a dip in the pool and looking straight out to the view is magic.
Will definitely be going back and probably experience one of the other apartments, perhaps the one with the balcony.

Renting a 'Gite de France' still remains one of the best value holidays I've ever had. During our last visit to France, we rented a Gite on the outskirts of Josselin in the Morbihan region of Brittany.
The medieval town is beautiful with an impressive castle overlooking the Brittany Canal. It's an easy drive from St Malo and set in wonderful rolling countryside. We made several trips to the south coast at Carnac via the scenic back roads.
Fantastic, upmarket, comfy B&B style accommodation with a great restaurant, cosy bar and well-stocked book shop. Ullapool is a lovely town on a breath-taking loch and this is the pick of the places to stay.
