I spent my last holiday in a wonderful place: I went with my husband and my son to Tuscany, at Nibbiaia, a peaceful village among the Tuscan hills and, at the same time, extraordinarily near to the sea.
I went to a beautiful residence that I recommend: it is a typical Tuscan construction but inside apartments are entirely restructured. My apartment was lovely and finely furnished, very clean and properly equipped.
Nearby the residence there's a very good and cheap pizzeria (few minutes' walk) and the comforts of the village. I had the opportunity to taste the real spirit of this wonderful region so much loved in the world.

We had a fab holiday in these privately owned stone cottages, painstakingly restored by the lovely couple who own them (Danish/French couple who speak perfect English).
The cottages are located in small un-touristy villages and we found it hard to choose whether to just laze around the garden and enjoy the private wine cellar, or try some of the many outdoor activities in the Auvergne region (which we had never heard of before).
The owners are really helpful and host a Monday evening get-together for all their guests so you can ask them any questions you might have and taste some of the local fare.
Also, if you are dreaming of buying in the region, they can help you locate the property AND get the people to help you restore it. One week there and we were hooked, so we are going back with some friends and renting one of the larger cottages this time.
A lot of lower-end accommodation options in Kuala Lumpur for backpackers and people/families on a budget are quite poor (bed bugs being a common complaint). For £20-24 you can get a double room at the Swiss Inn, located right in the heart of vibrant Chinatown, close to Central Market and importantly, light rail inter-city transport links. It represents a great value option and comes with an excellent buffet breakfast. Room has TV and tea making facilities etc. Book online for some decent deals. No extra cost for children though they do not provide an extra bed.
I stayed around Baggot Street a few weeks ago. A great location, there are great pubs and restaurants and it's just a few minutes' walk from Trinity College.
I can recommend Dohney & Nesbitts pub, a very traditional pub and great fun and then across the street is Toner Pub, different crowd, but again traditional. Stayed in Baggot Court Townhouse and then for a change moved to Fitzwilliam Square and stayed at Fitzwilliam Townhouse, great places to stay, Georgian buildings and, most of all, good value.

If Hotel Lodi can't quite make up its mind if it's a good budget hotel (with nice airy private rooms upstairs) or a pretty upmarket hostel (dorm rooms downstairs), one thing's for sure: it's a fantastic option for cheap accommodation in Rome!
It's set a couple of stops on the metro away from the city centre, in a smart suburb near a couple of excellent (and well priced) restaurants. Out back there's a lovely garden (with fruit trees and vines), perfect for lounging around in on warm summer evenings...
But what really makes it special is the people who run it. Fabrizio is a giant of a man, who literally pressgangs his guests into sharing his food and wine (or grappa), and insists on giving them detailed instructions for how to get the best out of his beloved city. Special guy, special place.

A small, very professionally run guest house/B&B. All rooms have their own shower room and the house is just minutes away from the centre of San Sebastian.
There are lovely views over the countryside, and the welcoming and helpful, English speaking owner serves breakfast in a spacious room on the lower
ground floor. We paid 45 euros 80 for the room and 5 euros 60 for breakfast for two.

Absolutely amazing place. Ulpotha is an experience that can never really be described. In summary, if a five-star beach resort with evening gin and tonics and home-from-home luxuries is your preferred destination, or if you like extreme hardship and want to eat bugs for breakfast, then Ulpotha isn’t for you and you wouldn’t fit in anyway. But if you genuinely want to get away from it all, in a warm, engaging and totally relaxing environment, but with a more minimalist lifestyle, where you can challenge your perception of just how important a hairdryer is, then you will have the most amazing time.
I stayed here last September and will definitely go back. The owners are British and good for a laugh. The rooms were all spotlessly clean and each had en suite bathrooms. It's more like a hotel but with hostel prices. The pool and patio area is a major bonus, great for lounging around or to cool off after a day exploring. Use this place as a base for exploring the islands and Split, as a stop over, or even as a short break hotel.
It is a budget hotel in Dhaka. This hotel is located in central Dhaka. Nice, clean room. Tariff starts from $5-10. Also there is a nice restaurant in the 2nd floor of the hotel.

Lovely self-catering apartment right by the river Dart. Swim before breakfast! Such a relaxing spot, trees, river. Dartmoor and the sea within easy reach.
This cosy beach hotel is perfect for kitesurfing, it is on the best kite beach and right next to the village centre. There is free fast internet, kite storage etc. Compliments for the friendly English-speaking staff, we fully enjoyed the massages and caipirinhas!
Handy location, bus stop right outside, very family-friendly.

A self-catering apartment for two people, set in a tropical garden of a family house, 150 metres from a two-mile long paradise beach protected by a coral reef, fringed by a casurina forest.
Beautiful walks in every direction, loads of safe snorkelling, diving, boat trips. Definitely the best beach on the island we saw in a great district with everything you'd want.The apartment is in a quiet place as close to the beach as you can get and is roomy and secure with parking for a hire car. It was everything we expected and more from a tropical island holiday.

It's walking distance to the centre of the city but secluded enough within its diplomatic quarter to be quiet.
As flash as Flash Gordon downloading Flashplayer in a flash flood (yes, it is that flash!), La Controra Flashpackers Hostel has got to be one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in!
The hostel is housed in an old monastery, and huddled around a palm-strewn courtyard that's ideal for barbecues. Shared rooms are light, airy and spacious, while a couple of doubles seem to open up on to their own terraces. All in all, it's more than a bit special. (And very reasonable, too!)
Assuming you can get a flight, there is still some cheap accommodation in Moscow.
The Voschod Hotel say they have doubles available for 2,400 rubles per night (about £25 each). Be prepared for a very basic facility though. The Hotel Sovietsky (a deliciously kitsch venue just north of the Garden Ring) have rooms for 7,200 rubles - £156. The Warsaw Hotel has singles for 4,300 rubles (about £94) and doubles for 6,250 (about £135 or £68 each). Like Home Apartments have flats available before and after the match.
