This brand new hotel has seven beautiful apartments, each with a stunning view in the front over the ocean and in the back over the sand dunes. We stayed in a two-person apartment, very clean, huge bathroom and a very nice atmosphere. Try their breakfast, it's delicious!

Wizards Thatch luxury suite in Alderley Edge is perfect for a romantic break. The bedroom is breathtaking with its magnificent four-poster bed draped in gold tapestries and the bed is probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in. We will never forget sipping our champagne by the pond illuminated by the flickering lights of the candleabra. Magical. Can't wait to return.
Don't be put off by the slightly dodgy looking decor on the website, this hotel is within walking distance of the Arch de Triomphe in a quiet, leafy street. At 90 Euros for a double it’s a bargain with everything on your doorstep.

After staying a night in Durban on our way south from St. Lucia to Capetown,we happened across a small guesthouse in the seaside town of Port Edward. We chose Port Edward as our last point before traveling down through the eastern cape to pick up the garden route.
Port Edward is a lovely little place with a nice beach with plenty to do, good food and very friendly locals,we chose a small guesthouse called Khaya Langa ran by a lovely English couple who could not do enough for us. They were very informative and their knowlege of the local area was astounding.
Khaya Langa is graded four-star by the TGCSA, it is set in lush sub-tropical gardens, very peaceful, very quiet and very safe. Paradise is probably the term I am looking for, the rooms are second to none with their own entrance which seems to be a hard thing to find in South Africa, the norm with most of the small guesthouses in South Africa is that you are almost living with the owners.
The rooms are very well appointed with air-con which is a must in the South African summer even the winter in that part of KZN is hot. TV, tea and coffee facilities are provided, even hairdriers for the ladies.
Khaya Langa translated into English means house of the sun and it is just that, their rates are very reasonable as this place is a quality establishment. I honestly think they could charge double and they would get it.

Those looking for a hotel-style accommodation with hostel prices, this is the one. Been going there since 1998 and makes part of why Berlin is so special to me! Has nice big rooms and cosy art deco style. So good, even real Germans stay there. Also has very nice and comfortable cafe adjoining it.

Great apartments - all of them in Wilheminian-style houses. The flats are in the heart of the city and you feel like a real Berliner when staying in them.
Really cheap and comfortable, these apartments are a must if you are visiting Berlin. Also very easy to book and very friendly to deal with.
A handful of rooms tucked behind the tourist agency in the old town square of the Turkish quarter, this place is small enough to feel like you're joining a family for a few days.
The war tour the hostel operates is a must (if not to be taken with a pinch of salt) and helps you truly understand the importance of the place.

One of the unfortunate by-products of staying at a great hostel is that your enjoyment of the place can be inversely proportional to the amount of the city you see. Thus, the slightly guilty feeling when you're loafing on the huge bed/sofa that occupies the majority of the Stanger's communal area. But, quite frankly, it's worth it.
They screen films pretty much all day on to a projector screen in the lounge, have barbecues on the front porch, and the staff will frequently lead guests off to their favourite bars.
This is one of those places where the guests stay longer than they expected, and end up working there. The writing all over the walls and the squat-like attic give it a definite acid house feel, but don't worry, everyone’s friendly, and the hippy vibe is pretty infectious.
The 24-hour bar (essentially a fridge) and adjoining lounge are great to meet people and play some free pool. It’s a party place as well, so expect to have some messy evenings. A little bit of a mission to find, but definitely worth it. AND make sure you do a shot of Unicum at the bar. Medicinal apparently. Can't really remember.

Restored historic kasbah, just outside Ait Benhaddou, set among mountains and palm groves. Rooms are set around a cool tiled courtyard and terraces overlook the unspoilt countryside. Half-board is compulsory, with fantastic food cooked by the French chef owner, and there are also sometimes local musicians in the evening. Good value with double rooms from €84 per night (half board).

The Hospederia Zacatin in a family-run hostel, immaculately clean and very friendly, bar stays open until all hours and there is a roof terrace on the third floor as well, which does barbecues. There is also a good restaurant so lots of food choices.
La Parqu is the restaurant/bar in the middle of Alacala square. It is a beautiful area where all the family stroll in the evening. La Parque is a lovely friendly bar doing tapas and where you can watch the world go by.

Lovely staff. Fridge in the room, Glassed Shower nice breakfast...and FREE INTERNET. I could not continue to run my business without the free internet. Good signal also. Close to EVERYTHING! Subway, Train Station, Bus stops, Opera house, Baths, Museum, Hero's Square, Zoo, West End Mall, etc. We highly recommend renting a bike--and roll around! Wonderful location! Has 24 rooms. A new hotel, excellent location, 5 mins walk from anywhere. Ticks all the boxes for a city hotel, with prices a fraction of its peers at this level. A quiet, comfortable sleep, fast wi-fi everywhere, no hookers, bars, etc, and an excellent buffet for breakfast.
